snakes and arrows board
This sheet is from a lesson I did to try and get my students to identify errors in their grammar.
Sheet 1 is blank, sheet 2 is filled with grammar Burmese students struggle with. Most of it is tense stuff, with a bit of preposition work thrown in.
I copied the board from and the gameplay Grammar Games by Mario Rinvolucri, but added my own questions. Also, there are no ladders in MS-word clip art, so it´s ´snakes and arrows´ instead.
The idea is for the students in 4s to play the game as normal, but every time a student lands on a speech bubble, they must decide if the sentence is correct or not.
If the student thinks the sentence is wrong, he/she must offer a ´correct´ sentence
The rest of the group most vote on the correctness.
If the group agrees with the student´s answer he goes forward 3 places, if they disagree, he goes back 3 places. (irrespective of the actual correctness)
The students must keep a note of all the guesses, and at the end of the game, check back with the teacher to see which ones were wrong and which right.
