Eurovision lesson plan
It’s Eurovision time again, and I really wanted to do something fun with my students. I often play this game at home when the competition is on, as it makes for a more interesting night, so I’ve transferring it to the classroom using 10 (or 11) of the most ‘interesting’ songs from recent Eurovision history. Students have to watch the videos and give out scores as if they were judges. They use comparative and superlative forms during the marking stage to discuss who is better / worse and why! This is great practice for irregular comparative. too.
*Bonus question: Two of the entrants listed actually won Eurovision on their particular year. Which two?
*You could have a discussion about political voting too…
