What time is it?
Telling the time is a part of our everyday lives. We hear it when asking about store opening and closing times or when making appointments. This handout helps your ESL students to practice telling time and using the simple present tense to describe, ask and talk about their daily life.
Using a digital clock, English speakers read 10:20 simply as ten twenty. A second way your students might hear the time being told is with prepositions: twenty past ten, or twenty (minutes) past ten (o’clock). Review these prepositions and additional words such as quarter and half.
