Brexit: Prime Ministers speech as Britain leaves the EU January 2020 worksheet
Brexit: Prime Ministers speech as Britain leaves the EU January 2020
Link to the PMs speech as Britain leaves the EU on the 31st January 2020. Teacher can elicit vocabulary from the headline provided in order to anticipate the content. The worksheet is designed to help the students train their ear and guide their listening. The first part is listening for gist, the second part listening for details that they classify in a table. They then listen for specific words in order to complete the transcript. You can then work on the meaning of the words in the transcript. The last part is a writing activity that invites the students to express their opinion on Brexit and the consequences. Obviously you can exploit this as little or as much as you want depending on the time that you have and the level of your students !
