Looking for partner schools.

Hello everyone, I�m taking advantage of this forum to present a little request. I teach English in a high school in the north of France and we are willing to get an Erasmus accreditation. Therefore, I�m looking for partners in Europe. The goal would be to start with teachers shadowing for the next school year, leading the following years to common activities between our students. We were thinking of creating a sort of drama club, in which students could create different sketches on topics such as inclusion and diversity, ecology, new technologies or citizenship. We can imagine our students coming to your school to perform their creations and vice versa. This is just a working base of course, and it will evolve according to everyone�s needs and wishes. Hello, I am looking for help from the English teachers in France. I am helping my friend�s son who studies English in a French school. He is in 5th form. Next year and the year after he is going to attend an optional class LCE (Langues et cultures eurpéennes). I am actually looking for more details about this class and what they are meant to learn. Hi, I�d like to know why every time I try to login from my pc a message appears that my account has been temporarily disabled due to 3 failed attempts to login although my id and password are automatically saved in my pc and I�ve never forgotten them. I think your lists are ok. Let the students learn the vocabulary 10 or 15 words a day. It will be ok. In my humble opinion. sprunked

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering which of the pieces below is grammatically correct.
A. Yesterday, one hundred people took part in the survey. 12% of the surveyed selected the option �Team sports�. B. Yesterday, one hundred people took part in the survey. 12% of those surveyed selected the option �Team sports�. C. Yesterday, one hundred people took part in the survey. 12% of the participants surveyed selected the option �Team sports�. D. Yesterday, one hundred people took part in the survey. 12% of the surveyed participants selected the option �Team sports�.
For me, B - D sound fine, but A is somewhat weird as �12% of the surveyed� is an incomplete phrase. What�s your take on it? Thank you so much in advance! |

A is also OK because the + adjectives refers to a whole class or groupe of people. So it is a complete sentence. |

Solution to Teacher Work Overload: NO SLEEP!

Teachers around the country have complained that there aren’t enough hours in the day to do all the things they need to do: lesson planning, marking homework, entering grades, answering emails, etc. One teacher in Illinois has a solution: “I don’t sleep,” he says. “If I don’t sleep, that gives me enough time to do all the things I need to do. It’s great!” No sleep you ask. Is that healthy? Doctors recommend 7 - 9 hours of sleep per night. Teacher Willa Johnson counters this. “I find that stress is worse than no sleep. If I don’t finish my work, I feel stressed. By not sleeping, I feel more relaxed because all my work gets done. It’s really the best option for me.” We interviewed dozens of teachers in different school districts and we found many are in agreement. “Sleep is for wimps.” chuckles a teacher in Oregon. “We just have to learn to live without it.” So, put on some loud music and grab your favorite energy drink. Get ready for a night of finishing up all your work so that you can breathe easy the next day. Oh, and Happy April Fool’s Day!

Does anyone have (know) a shortened version of The Sound of Music?

Hi, I am reading the book Wonder with my kids in class. Towards the end of the book, the main characters are watching the musical The sound of Music. Only a few of my students had ever heard of the movie. I thought it might be cool to have them watch it, but I have only 135 minutes (max) at my disposal. The original movie is almost 3 hours long. Does anyone here know of a shortened version I could show in class (three 45 minute lessons)? |
