Classic and contemporary young adult literature list with blurbs. Updated.
Last year I posted a list of classic and contemporary novels of which my students could choose a book. The blurbs helped them make up their minds and gave some insight. Today´s list is updated. Some books have been removed but more have been added. All books have a minimum of 4 stars on goodreads.com (apart from a few exceptions, but those are real YA-favourites). Over a period of 2 weeks, I go over all the books with the students. I let them put the books on a scale of 1 - 10 (how much would you like to read this book?) so chances that they really choose a book they will fully enjoy are far greater than just giving students a list of books. The topics of the various novels cover all possible aspects: fantasy, non-fiction, dystopian, utopian, science-fiction, war, love, detective, thriller, refugees, LGBT, ... I truly hope this list will also be useful for you and your students.
