OBJECTIVES OF THE TEACHING UNIT:
To have students reflect on the shaping of female identity in and through fairy tales
- To introduce students to Angela Carters idea of female subjectivity and having them compare it to the other feminist rewriting they have come across
- To further develop their ability to make a close reading of a written text
- To further develop their ability to work in pairs/groups and to negotiate meaning with peers
- To find out and to reflect on the narrative structure of a movie while watching it
- To introduce students to the language of movies and, in particular, to the process of adaptation from a written text to a film, paving the way for possible future expansions ......
