This is a sheet of questions to answer in conjunction with a mini biography found on https://youtu.be/x-387NMCR6w. Students must watch the short video and answer the questions. I tell my students Poe is important because he was one of the first important authors to emerge from the U.S. As a part of our culture in the States it is important to know who Edgar Allan Poe is because almost all people growing up in the U.S. know who Poe is and have read his work in the classroom. This lesson is followed up with reading The Raven and doing an activity with it.
