"Hooked on Books!" - Extensive Reading for elementary stds.: 1st 45-minute lesson of 6 (1)
This year we´ve decided to read with our low achievers (A2 level) Newspaper Chase, by John Escott, Penguin Readers, Easystarters (200 words)- If you don´t have the book or the audiofiles, please let me know. I´ve started creating my lessons and this is the first one (2PAGES), which happens to be suitable to introduce any kind of story since the aim is to find out about the students´ reading habits. Students first match the images to the fairy-tales and choose the one they liked best when they were kids. Then they do the quiz "I as a reader" and share their results with the class. Finally, they speculate about the story they´re going to read through the title and complete a table with information from the cover and the backcover. That´s all they get from the story for now. I´m sure they´ll have fun! We all love stories, don´t we? Have a wonderful Thursday. Hugs, mena:))))
