Poem Sally by Phoebe Hesketh
This handout helps the teacher tackle a very sweet poem called Sally. It is about a girl who refuses to be tamed and controlled by society and is still shining and full of happiness.This poem is meant for intermediate level because of the level of vocabulary. The poem also has many figures of speech and would be useful as an example. It is advisable to preteach some of the vocab so that students can understand better this character. An extra activity which was done in class, was to compare Sally to yourself and say what is different and what is similar. This can be a great speaking activity. Enjoy!
