Story words worksheet

Small flashcards with words / phrases that could be used to make a story. Ideal for practising narrative tenses. There are several activities you can do with these cards. Here are 3 suggestions: Definitions bingo – Each student takes 3 cards. You describe the word or phrase and the students turn over the corresponding card if they have it. The first student to turn over all 3 cards is the winner. Definitions race - In pairs or groups students take turns describing a word and the other students have to guess what it is. Tell a story – Students create a short story using a selection of cards. This can be done in pairs or groups or for more advanced levels, as a chain (where each student takes a card and makes a sentence using the information on it to add to the story).
