Respending to Good News or Bad News
Students first read a list of common responses to hearing a piece of good news or bad news. Next, they practice choosing a response to an example of good news or bad news. To expand, ask students to continue the dialogue with creative role play in each situation. Another expansion activity is to ask students to add a "but the bad news is...." or "but the good news is..." Create funny scenarios by building longer scenarios and adding more good/bad news!
