Twelve cans of tuna fish jazz chant
A hilarious and very funny jazz chant which I have taught from age 8 to elderly people, and all age groups find something for them in it. Intonation is very important, showing surprise, disapproval, how people gossip about each other ...but the little story is of course twisted and exaggerated. My learners like to act it out in two groups, asking and answering each other, experimenting with different voices. Carolyn Graham is the writer, the originator of jazz chants, which esl-efl teachers should use as often as possible because it engages all ages at all levels. Who doesnīt like to chime in on a rhythmic, snappy and amusing chant after all.
