Crazy conversation!
My students love this group activity because it allows them to have very fun, animated and crazy conversations. There are 3 game sheets that can be cut into cards for each group and one sheet with "colloquial expressions" for reactions, such as "whoa! eh! come on!", etc. 1 set of cut up cards for each group, distributed equally among the group members. One student starts the conversation by saying/ doing whatever one of his cards states. The object of the game is to get rid of your cards as fast as possible. Have fun!
------------
My students usually make up their own rule for how they want to play this game and they laugh throughout the whole activity because they will make up such crazy combinations of phrases. The most important part is that the students can understand the text on the little cards and then they will have a great time saying the phrases during the game. They will practice the vocabulary and grammar without even knowing it.
Usually this is how my students play it:
One student speaks at a time and says either one or more phrases that are printed on the little cards. The object of the game is to get rid of as many cards as possible in as short a period of time. The order of the cards doesnīt really matter. For example, one student says "The day before yesterday I went to Hawaii" and the next student says "Oh thatīs great!" and then right after that "But my parents went to the moon."
The expressions/ reactions on the fourth page are some that we can use during class time or the next game or whenever. Basically the fourth paper is its own handout and I should have uploaded it separately but it seemed to make sense to be with the little cards.
