Police and Thieves
Instructions:
Divide the class into teams of three.
Give each team member a character-card. There should be two suspects and one police-officer in each team.
The suspects must start off by going off together and creating an alibi. Give them no more than 10 minutes.
After time is up, the police-officer must interview each suspect separately and take note of what they tell him/her.
If the suspects story matches, the suspects win.
If the police-officer can find a discrepancy in the alibi, the police-officer wins.
This game helps students practice their speaking ability and the past simple tense!
Tell the groups to read the instructions on the card carefully!
