What to bring to a new planet?
This is a conversational group activity for four students. Students hypothesize what they would take with them if the had to leave earth. First they brainstorm and write down their own list of ten things in one of the four outer spaces of the placemat (this is the thinking phase). Then they have to talk about their lists and check how many items they have in common with the other group members. Next they have to discuss which items are really the most important ones and they have to agree on only seven objects - these are then written in the middle of the placemat. The last step is to present the list in front of the class and answer questions that may arise.
