Students match the SMS English with the correct full English word/meaning. They then translate the conversation in part two into correct English e.g. "Want 2go2 cinema l8r?" becomes "Do you want to go to the cinema later?". After this worksheet you could do an activity where each student chooses a secret nickname. They each get a slip of paper and write their nicknames on it. They then write a conversation starting question. The teacher collects the papers and then hands them out randomly. The next student must then continue the conversation. Continue to do this 5 or 6 times and then hand back each paper to the original author. Choose some students to read their conversations to the class.
