Speaking exercise - 7 scenarios
The assignment is to discover and choose vocabulary on a topic (natural disasters, hotels and restaurants, feelings or the media) then use that vocabulary in a conversation based on a fictitious scenario (given on each activity card. I gave a mark out of 20 for the whole thing: 10 for the ten pieces of vocbulary written on the card; and 10 for the vocabulary correctly used in the actual conversation. I marked the kids in teams of two after they´d had a class to investigate and practise. I had vocbulary cards prepared. They could also use the internet to gather vocabulary.
