Cyrano de Bergerac Play for ESOL ACT I
I taught Cyrano de Bergerac for years with my high school students. Students always commented it was one of their favorite memories of French class because it was fun and they learned to communicate better while discussing the story. When I started teaching ESOL I found an adapted novel in English from the Pacemaker series. I then translated my vocabulary-worksheets into English. I have a box of props such as a fake nose, plastic swords, bakerīs hat, wedding veil (halloween is a great time to find these in stores) There is a pre-reading activity, vocabulary and comprehension question worksheets for each act, some quizzes, a love letter writing assignment and compare contrast essay with the modern day film version Roxane.
