Room Mate Casting - A Role Play
This is a role play game for groups of 5 people. I called it "Room mate casting".
The situation is: Clarissa and Steve are sharing a flat and want to find a third room mate. Three candidates are coming to the interview/casting. Every candidate has to introduce her/himself. The two friends ask questions to find out more about the three people who want to move in.
The difficult thing is to find the right person who will get along both with Clarissa and Steve who both are looking for different things in new room mates.
At the end of the activity (which can take up to half an hour), every group should have decided on the third room mate (either Miguel, Isabelle or Lydia).
My students of 18 years enjoyed it a lot because it was something they could identify with. At eighteen they themselves were thinking about moving out and finding a shared flat.
