This is an effective and simple lesson plan on how to implement a murder mystery activity in any intermediate or advanced level class to review the use of simple past and past continuous, as well as many other skill sets. Because the activity centers on catching students in the act of telling lies, students always become engaged and fiercely competitive whenever they participate in it. The lesson plan is also accompanied by a simple handout that can be distributed to students to provide them with guidelines.
