SPEAKING ACTIVITY - MAKING A TRIAL
This activity has to be done in a small group (max 15 students). Divide the class group in four small groups (judges, jury, defence and prosecution). Let them two or three classes to get prepared and will working check that prosecution and defence thesis more or less correspond. While prosecution and defence prepare evidence and witness, jury and judges prepare the roules of the court and possible punishments. All evidences have to be writen (in case of documents) or recorded (conversations or videos) in English. And have to thought in advanced and included in a list that all the parts can see.
I advice to let them make the preparation in their mother tongue and be very strict in the trial to only speak English. During the trial the teacher can be the translation service.
