Minimal Pair Pokemon
Listen as the teacher reads on word from each row. Follow the words to find out which Pokemon Eevee evolves into.
Feel free to edit my worksheet and change the words to more appropriate minimal pairs for your students. I used a wide variety of common mishearings for this example. For pronunciation practice, students can work in pairs and take turns going through the process. See if the student listening gets to the Pokemon which the student speaking was aiming for.
Finally, this works as a listening test as well. Tell the student "right" or "left" and have the student read the word in that position. Mark which word the student *produced* on your copy. If the student does not speak carefully, he or she will not end on the correct pokemon.
Example: Student is told to read the left word (play) but student fails to pronounce it properly. Instead, it sounds like the student said "pray". Therefore, mark "pray" or put an "X" on "play" to show the incorrect pronunciation.
