Lesson plan – Speaking and writing worksheet

The aim of the lesson is to create a comfortable atmosphere where the students are free to practise their speaking skills without being constantly corrected. To aid the realisation of this aim the corrections will take place at the end of the lesson. Thus encouraging the students to practice fluent speaking. The discussion will give way to practising writing skills. The students will start off with an easy task of compiling a list and thereafter they will need to write a movie review. Example text and guidelines will be provided to ensure that the students have all of the necessary resources. The aim is to encourage the students to practise their writing skills by asking them to write about something they truly enjoyed. This lesson will be informal and shouldn’t feel like work; the students should want to practice their writing without being afraid of ridicule. In the end this will encourage the students to practice more often.
