Pair Activity for Teaching Expressions
I cut the expression into two parts and randomly distribute the parts to my class and send them to the hall to find their partner. When they think they found their partner, they come back and I check to make sure. Once partnered, students figure out what the expression means and then prepare a dialogue using the expression. This activity is great for mixing up partners and the students love finding each other. In the process of looking, they must examine all the words of each others´ expressions. This activity can be accomplished in a 45 minute period provided the dialogues are short.
