A1 Can, can’t, could & couldn’t practise 1
Practising "can," "cant," "could," and "couldnt" at the A1 level is essential for basic communication, as it enables you to express ability, permission, and possibility. These modal verbs allow you to talk about what is possible now or was possible in the past, which is vital for forming complete sentences and polite requests. Mastering them builds confidence in everyday interactions and lays a strong foundation for more complex language skills. Students familiarise themselves with the 4 modal verbs and their meanings. Then they read the sentences / questions to see which verb and is needed to complete the gap-fill. Answers on page 2.
