ADVANCED BUSINESS ENGLISH - GETTING THE INTERVIEW - PART 2 OF 2 (RESUME WRITING)
Hi, everybody --
This is the next installment in my Business English series. This is the 2nd part of the resume writing unit. For those who may not have seen my previous business contributions, Iīm constructing a Business English course that can be used for high intermediate to Advanced. (Some are just Advanced only. Like this one.) The approach is not just the language points, but their application in an international work place (since the use of English in the workplace would imply that it is international), and the cultural considerations that are needed.
All of the units have homework, but thatīs optional, of course. This is the second class of the Resume unit, and includes an activity for the students to act as resume consultants and to write a resume for their client. Thereīs an advertisement for an available job, and the biographical information of their client. They need to work as a team/pair to construct the perfect resume for their client based on the information available, and then be able to justify their reasoning in constructing it the way they did. (The guidelines needed are in Part 1 of this lesson - separate ESLP contribution) The next unit will be similar, but for writing cover letters. And the final unit will be on the actual interview. Stay tuned! More to come! I hope you find it useful.
