Persuasive Business Letter: Writing Assignment
After my students view and take notes on the Frontline PBS documentary "On Our Watch: The Genocide in Darfur," I have them write a persuasive business letter to any public figure of their choosing. In this letter students educate the reader about the current Darfurian genocide, and also urge the reader to take action against the atrocities currently being committed there every day. This assignment also teaches the skill of writing a business letter in proper format, and can be used for any topic. Enjoy!
