Rainbow Rings - ( Word Mobile or Cutting Activity)
Ok. This was supposed to be a gameboard but it turned into something else. My first idea was to cut the rainbow circle in half and glue on two clouds (4 clouds are included). Then punch a hole in the top of each rainbow and the bottom of the clouds to turn it into a mobile. You can hang different pictures or vocabulary words from the clouds using string. This rainbow can be used for weather words, or for reviewing spring or St.Patrick´s Day vocabulary. Of course you can review the names of the colors too. If you teach math you can use this rainbow to teach fractions. This is actually and oval, but you could practice cutting it into equal parts. For example your students could carefully cut it into quarters. For cutting practice, students could slowly cut around each ring. Younger students could practice their fine motor skills by using a large push pin or tack (while supervised) and slowly punch holes around the rings. Lastly you can cut the oval in half and use each half along with a band of paper to create a rainbow crown. When I think about it. You could also add some numbers or letters and turn this into a rainbow dartboard or put this sheet on the floor and drop coins or gametokens onto the rings for a game to see who could get the most points or who can reach the target or the center first.
