Persuasive Presentation - TV advert about a new invention
FIRSTLY: The formatting appears wrong on the preview, but its OK really! Also, small boxes on the preview are actually Japanese words which I have left to help teachers in Japan, but can be deleted if its not helpful to you.
I used these worksheets over 2 lessons. Students formed groups. Each group choses one invention from the pictures, or invents their own product. Then, following the template, writes a persuasive TV advert for their product. (I also had them make posters). Next lesson, students present their adverts to the class. There is an example advert script provided on the last page. I performed it to students, then we read it together and they underlined persuasive devices that I had taught them in previous lessons (similes, giving advice and use of because). There is also provided a worksheet with questions about the product for students who finish early and require extra work.
