Writing an advertisement 1) Aims: persuading people to buy a product / informing people about a situation or an event / convincing people to donate… 2) Text organisation of an advertisement 1- Headline: it should be attention-grabbing. 2- Text: to stimulate the readers’ desire and emotion, highlight the benefits of your product / service… rather than its features because your aim is to convince the targeted public. 3- “Call to action” phrase: it should be strong and solid to ask the reader to take action. e.g. “come and see”, “rush…” , “write immediately”, “ ring now”, 4- Closing : ( advertiser name + contact information)
