Newspaper Article Report / Presentation Assignment
This is a handout for a ESL reading and oral presentation assignment about a news article of a students´ own choosing. Thus, this assignment is very adaptable for any class. The skills students practice by completing the assignment are: basic internet researching skills, comprehensive reading skills, summary skills, critical problem solving, and oral presentation skills. Additionally, the assignment requires students listening to presentations ask questions about the article, promoting class discussion about current issues.
I made this for my oral English college students at a university in China.
This assignment takes half a page (so one page contains two copies) and it´s formatted for A4 paper.
