Here come 80 questions immigrants wanting to become Americans must be able to answer in a civics test. American history, the constitution, famous Presidents, - it´s America in a nutshell ! The questions are selected from a list of 100 sample questions. I will leave out all questions that refer to certain states only or to present political figures to make these cards “timeless”. Make little study cards out of these questions and answers (fold right side over to the back, laminate ) and teach your students American history and the American constitution!! There are multiple uses of these cards (individual study, pair work, group work, learning facts, practising or making a quiz or an exam). I added explanations for many of the answers. . There are 8 sets of 10 cards altogether, there are several more to come. Every set of 10 cards has its own colour and its own clipart symbol so that students can easily distinguish the different sets. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~MODERTORS PLEASE RELAX AND DO NOT DELETE - whereas I took the official exam questions from the US citizen and immigration services, because after all they are the only official questions, (for example here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments/M-623.pdf) I did make major changes. I reduced the size considerably (from 49 pages of heavily coloured flashcards to 16 pages of little cheaper-to-print study cards), left out the historical pictures and maps, added little cliparts of American symbols, left out about 20 questions, and, most importantly, added explanations in easy English for some cards (e.g. about Schwarzenegger or the “lame duck”).
