Go Fish Game - Body Parts
A fun game for the classroom or the family!
How to play the game:
Get into groups of 2 players or more. (If you make enough copies you can play with larger groups too!)
Pick somebody to shuffle and deal the cards.
In this variation of the game, 2 matching cards form a "SET" (in contrast to the usual game where 4 make a SET but it’s really up to you to decide).
5 cards are dealt to each player, the rest of the cards are spread out on the table in the "ocean" or "pool" (face down, of course ;).
Players check if they have any cards double (="SET") – these pairs are put on the table in front of them, face up.
Now the players ask someone in the group for a card they need to make a book.
example "BODY PARTS":
Player A: "DO YOU HAVE A NOSE?"
If player B has the card, he says, "Yes, I DO" and hands over the card,
(maybe saying "Here you are" or "Here you go" – "Thanks" – "You´re welcome")
Player A adds the book to the ones in front of him.
If player B doesn´t have the card, he says, "No, I don´t. Go fish!",
and Player A takes a card from the ocean (or pool or water).
Now it´s player B’s turn to ask for a card.
Players are not allowed to ask for a card they are not holding.
If a player runs out of cards, the game is not over, he or she just takes a card from the WATER.
The game ends when all the cards have been used.
Whoever has the most books is the winner.
It´s a great way to get students speaking, to practice vocabulary as
well as questions & short answers. They´ll soon be able to ask questions
and give answers without looking at the words on the cards!
