The Great Potato Chip Taste Test
This was actually a PowerPoint activity I did last year for some college students...That worked out really well...Mostly because I come from a town just down the road from where the Potato Chip was born...so I could use the idea in different faculties...(i.e. tourism, my hometown, food, etc.)...It will cost you a little bit of money to go out and buy 5 cans of flavored Potato chips (I also buy soda as a palette cleanser...Coca Cola, because it is a fine American product)....Cover the cans with paper, then hand out one chip to each student. (Also give them a glass of soda) then have them write and discuss the flavors according to the worksheet...It is pretty fun...I usually give the rest of the chips out to whoever wants them. Potato chip flavors are one of those idiosyncrasies here in China...Some bizarre stuff...So I was pretty glad to have stumbled upon this idea. Whole lot of fun for me...Oh yeah, I also introduce the word, "allergy"...in case anyone has any..That would be a panic point back in the States.
