Getting to know you - Introductions
I used this as my first lesson with new classes of the school year. It was a successful activity which got students speaking to their classmates.
Students form questions by writing a word from the choice at the bottom of the sheet into the table. Then, they ask their partner each question and write their partnerīs response.
I played a game after this which involved the first row of students standing up. I asked one of these questions. Students raise their hand to answer. If they are correct, they can sit down. This cotinues until one student is left standing. This studentīs column stands up to answer questions. This can continue for quite some time; students found it very enjoyable!
A variation is to tell students the answer (e.g. "I am 16 years olds") and have them give you the quesitons (e.g. "How old are you?").
Hope itīs useful!
