Warmup Activity: Accidents Happen Then You Go To The Doctor
How to do the Monologue with your class:
My routine:
First I slowly do only one stanza with motions.
Then I do it again a little more quickly.
Then I ask them questions about what happened.
Then I have them repeat it after me with motions 2x.
I give it to them on a strip of paper for them to read.
I ask if there are any questions.
Then we begin our dayīs lesson.
Takes only 5 minutes and the kids always remember it and helps them use English. Plus if you do motions with a lot of emotion they always laugh and have a great time.
I use the same one for a week but I only see the same class 2x a week. So you might want to do 2 stanzas a week. I usually do it until they can do it by themselves without me. For example, I do the gestures but I do not talk and I see if they can say it while I do the gestures. If yes, we move on!
