Representing Christmas
Hi I use this worksheet to work on "histoire des arts" (art history) which is a requirement in French schools. My pupils get in touch with one of the most famous illustrators in the world, Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) and his representations of Christmas. They also get to reuse vocabulary weīve already studied (Christmas, physical description). First painting: Trimming the tree (1951 - for a Hallmark Card), second painting: The day after Christmas (on the cover of Farm and Fireside - December 1922), third painting: The discovery (on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post - 29th December 1952)
