Who are you? Halloween Introduction Cards (12 character cards with descriptions to read out loud)
Help your students learn how to introduce themselves. Break them up into small groups and give each of them a card. Have them line up or form a circle for each group. Each child will read a card in their normal voice or use a funny or scary voice for each character.
After reading their card they may turn to the person next to them and say, “Who are you?” Then the next student will read their card and so on.
For a greater challenge, students can read the descriptions without the names and have the other group members guess what kind of creature they are. If the other members cannot guess they can say, “We give up. Who are you?”
Before or after this activity, be sure to inform your students that it is more polite to say things like, “What is your name?” “Please tell me about yourself.” or “Please tell me your name” etc. when making introductions and meeting people. Saying, “Who are you?” can be considered rude in some situations. I have used it here because there is an owl on the backing cards and it seemed appropriate for the Halloween theme. (Hoot Hoot….Whoooooo)
Have a great Halloween!
