Traditional scottish dancing
This worksheet is meant to be an introduction to Scottish country dancing. I´ve done it a lot with my kids and they had great fun doing the dances. At the bottom of the second page of the worksheet, I have attached a webpage address which has a number of dances explained and songs reccomended. As you´ll see, I´ve also pointed out there are plenty of tutorials. Good dances for beginners are the Virginia Reel, Strip the Willow and the Gay Gordons. If you want any help, don´t hesitate to ask. I hope you enjoy it. Please, remember these dances are just for fun - two left feet are no impediment! They´re never that decorous and perfect, even in Scotland - it´s really just a great chance for the kids to have fun doing something different and learning about Scottish culture.
