About Me (And You)
I consider this a "Second Day" activity. Itīs a bit much for the first day of the year, but after the students have had a day to get to know you, they can spend a day telling you (and other classmates) about themselves!
First, students fill out the top section with their personal information. I recommend telling them to save the picture of themselves for last (otherwise they might use the whole class time to draw that picture!). Feel free to help students as they need it and perhaps write suggestions on the board (especially since multiple students might want help spelling the same words!).
Either when half of the class time is over or when the students have all finished writing their information, have students repeat the questions in the second section. Then have students stand up and walk around the room asking questions to their classmates. I recommend having them switch to a new partner after every question so that they talk to many different students. You may have them write the answers they are given with each studentīs name, but if you want them to only do this activity verbally, that is fine as well (and quicker!)
Finally, give students time to write a question or two (or three) in the box at the bottom. This section is for you to answer about yourself in writting and return the papers to the students later (usually the next day or so).
I hope you enjoy using this in your classroom!
