Phonics Boardgame + cards - 4 pages - fully editable
Boardgame + cards for "Sound Game". First page - boardgame. Second page - cards. Third page - empty cards to fill with the words your students are familiar with. Last page - cards background. Game preparation: print the boardgame in a thick sheet of paper and laminate it. Fill the third page with words your students may recognize. You may want to edit words on the second page as well. Print 3 or 4 times pages 3 and 4 for each boardgame, print the background and glue in the back before cutting the cards.
If you have many students, divide the class in groups of 4 or 5 students (as many groups as the boardgames you printed) and give each group a boardgame and a set of cards.
Game directions: play with a dice, each student starts with 3 cards. They have to find a word with similar sound as the one printed in red in the boardgame, then read it aloud. If they donīt have a word with the same sound they have to get more cards, until they find one containing the necessary word. Each extra card they get, they lose a turn.
The winner is the student who finishes the boardgame first.
