I got this activity from Vocabulary Games and Activities by Peter Watcyn- Jones and then adapted it for my Advanced level students. They really enjoy it. Students must decide if the sentece given is true or false. Focusing on the word in bold. Depending on how sure they are they place a bet. If they are very sure they can bet 100 or if unsure 10. THEY MUST BET! I then have them switch papers and correct them as a class. The students must add scores. Loss is minus. Gain is positive. Take the loss from the gain and decide who had the highest score. Winner gets a piece of chocolate! HAVE FUN!
