Song ´Cell Block Tango´ (Chicago): listening, crime vocab and writing Song ´Cell Block Tango´ (Chicago): listening, crime vocab and writing

A really fun way to kick-start a unit on crime and crime writing. Students listen to the song (or watch the video off youtube) ´Cell Block Tango´ from the musical Chicago. As this is for advanced students, they fill in the blanks (focusing on idioms and phrasal verbs like ´hit it off´), but they also must answer the word-formation and comprehension questions on the right hand side. Finally, students invent their own extra verse for the song and perform it if they wish. My students loved this activity. Hope it´s useful.
