RSVP - Scientists’ Ball
Here´s an enjoyable pairwork exercise where students match the names of famous scientists with their responses to an invitation to a Scientists’ Ball to celebrate Albert Einstein’s being named "Time" Magazine’s "Person of the Century." This is based on an e-mail that circulated on the Internet, but several of the contributions are MINE, along with some suggestions from one of my students. To do this in class, I give each pair the sheet with the scientists’ names and strips of paper in an envelope with their replies. I used Englische Schreibeschrift font for the titles, but other script fonts work nicely.
