This is the first activity I do with my students at the beginning of the school year. After talking about their holidays, they have to talk about events that happened in the world during the summer. They just have the pictures to begin with, they discuss what they see and then they try to put the information next to the correct picture. Finally they have to write a full paragraph about the event of their choice.
