Olympic Triples game
10 minute game on the subject of the Olympics for students in groups of two or three (or individuals for small classes).
Like the traditional Pairs game but there are three cards.
Instructions:
Print out one set (or more)of the cards and cut out.
Place cards face down on table.
Each group or individual student takes it in turns to turn over three cards (or they can tell the teacher which cards and the teacher can turn them over). If the three match - eg Tennis, court, racket - the students keep the cards. Otherwise they put them back on the table in the exact same place, face down and the next group have their turn.
The winner/winning group is the one with the most cards at the end.
