Creative Technology: Use a Wii to make a whiteboard and virtual reality
Perfect for inspiring engineering or IT students and to get them talking about a topic that interests them, this lesson gets students to think creatively by thinking up ways to use existing technology to create something new. They will be amazed by what they see and will straight away start discussing how it works and how they could use it.
The examples in the lesson include how to turn a Wii remote into an inexpensive whiteboard, as demonstrated by computer scientist, Johnny Lee.
The videos are free to download (references to the videos are given) and the lesson includes discussion questions after each of the three videos, followed by an assignment in which students have to present one of the three prototypes their team plans to develop, how and why.
