Mini Book 3: Dog, dog, dog in colour and greyscale
This story (rhyme) is based on a story I wrote about five years ago. This story uses only phonically regular words, 4 short vowels and the consonants b, c, d, g, k, s and t and the word “my”, which you may want to pre-teach. For reading comprehension interact with the children like this: How many dogs in his picture?
Show me the (sad dog).
Which dog is (getting a stick)?
Which dog is yours? And suchlike.
You can also ask the children about their own pets.
Nika (Moravc) suggested that we should personalize mini-books if possible and I have attempted to do so here. I didn’t want to waste space by writing instructions that children will have difficulty in reading or understanding, so I designed the last page in such a manner that children can work out for themselves what to do.
