Speaking exercise using should, had better and are supposed to Speaking exercise using should, had better and are supposed to

Should; ought to; had better and are supposed to. Notes for teacher: This exercise is to come at the end of a class focusing on the grammar of the modal verbs above. Although the pictures are here, the idea is to print them off, cut them out then hand them to pairs of students as a set of 8. The students match them up and construct sentences. Pre-teach and elicit any vocab they may not know (bruise, broken bone, burn etc.) Instructions: Match the injuries with the cure. Use should, ought to, had better and are supposed to to construct sentences about the injuries and cures with your partner. E.g. Student 1: “I have a bruise.” Student 2: “You should put cream on it.”
